  • Is this program only for African Americans?
    This program is geared towards females 16 and older that are of any ethnicity.
  • Do I need to have a church affiliation?
    No. A participant does not need to be a part of our church or any church.
  • Are there any costs (fees) associated for a participant?
    This would depend on which area of study or trade that is selected. Most programs are free or at a very reduced price, with scholarships opportunities. Enrollment into the overall mentorship program is based on the mentee being able to provide documentation of a demonstrated financial need.
  • What type of commitment is required?
    This is a mentorship program that does require a commitment of time, effort, and participation. Each program has a required time frame and you will have mentorship and employment counseling meetings to guide and assist you throughout this process.
  • Is there an application process?
    There is a screening process to determine a demonstrated financial need with a mentor leader that is conducted by phone or in person to verify if you want to participate and understand what is required of you. Any required documentation needed would be discussed at this time.
  • What geographical area do I have to live in to be a part of the program?
    A person would have to live in Guilford County, North Carolina to be able to participate. Our partners are located within this general area.
  • Is this one-on-one or group mentorship?
    It will be a little of both. Each participant will be matched with an individual mentor but there will be opportunities for us to meet as a group as well.
  • What are some examples of trade/skills training that you offer?
    Examples would include Phlebotomy, HVAC and Automotive technicians.
